Indian T20 League 2023: 5 players who might go unsold in mini auction

Rahane and Nabi

The 20-20 World Cup 2022 is done and dusted and the focus now shifts to the upcoming Indian T20 League mini-auction 2023. Well, there is still some time left for that to take place but all the franchises have been told to submit their list of retained and released players by 15th November.

Over the last week, numerous reports of big players being released by the franchises have come out. While some of the big overseas players won’t be participating in the next edition of the Indian T20 League, some might find themselves back in the auction pool.

In the upcoming mini-auction, a lot of players are likely to fetch big contracts but, unfortunately, there would be some who might go unsold. We have listed out 5 such players in this article:

Kolkata franchise bought Ajinkya Rahane’s services at the auction for the 2022 season at his base price of INR 1 crore. With Alex Hales opting out at the last minute, Ajinkya Rahane got the chance to be part of the playing XI in numerous matches. However, he failed to live up to the billing, amassing only 133 runs in 7 matches at an average of 19 and a strike rate of 103.90.
