Published on

The 20th match of the Indian T20 League 2022 sees Rajasthan take on Lucknow at Wankhede Stadium on Saturday. Rajasthan have two wins in three matches. They began their campaign with two consecutive wins before suffering a 4-wicket defeat at the hands of Bangalore.

They would be looking to get back to winning ways. On the other hand, Lucknow are currently flying high in the tournament. They have managed to secure 3 wins out of four and are coming into this game on the back of three consecutive wins.

Team News:

Rajasthan

Rajasthan suffered a four-wicket defeat in the last game. Jos Buttler’s 47-ball 70 helped them notch 169 runs in the first innings of that encounter. But the bowlers couldn’t restrict the opposition as Bangalore chased down the score in 19.1 overs. Heading into the next game, Sanju Samson and Co. would be looking to get back to winning ways and consolidate their position on the points table.

Players to watch out for:

  1. Jos Buttler:

Jos Buttler is the man in form. He is coming into the game on the back of two sensational knocks in the last two matches. Buttler scored a century against Mumbai and followed it with a 70 off 47 in the next game against Bangalore. He will, unarguably, be the most important batter in the next game for Rajasthan.

  1. Sanju Samson

Skipper Sanju Samson is also amongst the runs. In 3 matches, he has 93 runs at a strike rate of 166.07. Samson needs to put in consistent performances with the bat if Rajasthan ought to go deep into the tournament. Samson got out cheaply for 8 off 8 balls in the last game.

  1. Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal has set the stage on fire for Rajasthan in the ongoing edition of the Indian T20 League 2022. Chahal has helped Rajasthan fetch wickets whenever the team has been in trouble. He is currently the highest wicket-taker for the franchise, picking 7 wickets in 3 matches at an economy of under 6.

Probable Playing XI:

Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Devdutt Padikkal, Sanju Samson (c & wk), Shimron Hetmyer, Riyan Parag, Ravichandran Ashwin, Navdeep Saini, Trent Boult, Yuzvendra Chahal, Prasidh Krishna

Lucknow:

Lucknow is doing nothing wrong in the tournament so far. They have got one of the strongest batting line-ups in the competition. Ravi Bishnoi and K Gowtham spun a web around Delhi in the last game and restricted them to 149 runs in the first innings. Lucknow chased the target in 19.4 overs. Quinton de Kock starred with the bat, scoring 80 runs in 52 balls.

Players to watch out for:

  1. Quinton de Kock:

The former South Africa skipper played a match-winning knock of 80 runs in 52 balls in the last match against Delhi. De Kock should look to replicate a similar performance on Sunday.

  1. KL Rahul

KL Rahul got a decent start in the last game but got out just when he was looking to convert that into a big one. The skipper is in pretty good form, overall and chances are high that he plays a big knock on Sunday.

  1. Deepak Hooda

Deepak Hooda has played a major role in Lucknow’s success this year. He has played vital knocks in the middle order and capitalized on the starts provided by the openers. Hooda has 130 runs to his name in 4 matches at an average of 32.50.

Probable Playing XI:

KL Rahul (c), Quinton de Kock (wk), Evin Lewis, Deepak Hooda, Ayush Badoni, Jason Holder, Krunal Pandya, Krishnappa Gowtham, Andrew Tye, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan

Pitch Report:

The 20th match of the Indian T20 League is slated to play between Rajasthan and Lucknow at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The batsmen love to play at this surface. The ball comes nicely onto the bat and you expect a highly-scoring contest on Sunday. Dew could be a factor that can come into play and, thus, both teams would be looking to bowl first upon winning the toss.
