Published on

Lucknow and Delhi will play each other at the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Mumbai on April 7. Both teams have had contrasting results this season so far. Lucknow started their campaign with a loss against Gujarat but won against Chennai and Hyderabad respectively. On the other hand, Delhi won their opening game against Mumbai but lost to Gujarat in their last. Lucknow will be looking forward to continuing their winning momentum while Delhi will be looking to bounce back

Team News

Lucknow: After losing to fellow debutants, Gujarat, the team bounced back with wins against the defending champions Chennai, as well as Hyderabad. The team combinations look fine with the addition of Jason Holder to the team. He took three wickets in the last over against the Kane Williamson-led side. Expect the team not to tinker with the winning combination unless there is an injury.

Key Players:

Jason Holder: The all-rounder from the West Indies made a statement in his first game. Over the years, he has been a good striker of the ball and a superb bowler as well. He is expected to do well in the next game.

Deepak Hooda: The right-hander has scored two fifties in three games. These innings have come at a time when his side were in trouble. Expect him to do well again with the kind of form he is in.

Probable XI: KL Rahul (c), Quinton de Kock (wk), Evin Lewis, Manish Pandey, Deepak Hooda, Ayush Badoni, Krunal Pandya, Jason Holder, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Andrew Tye,

Delhi: The team started the tournament by snatching the victory out of the jaws of defeat against Mumbai. However, they lost to Gujarat in the next game, which they could have won. The team is missing the services of David Warner, who was in Pakistan till April 5 and will be available only after April 9 due to quarantine rules. Also, they are dealing with injury issues to Mitchell Marsh and Anrich Nortje. Marsh was also with the Australia team on the tour of Pakistan where he picked an injury. Nortje is yet to get clearance to play from Cricket South Africa (CSA). With these issues clouding the squad, it is hard to expect them to make changes in their playing XI, although there could be a case where Sarfaraz Khan might get a chance in place of Mandeep Singh.

Key Players:

Mustafizur Rahman - The left-arm medium pacer took three wickets for 23 runs against Gujarat. He is one of the best death bowlers in the world right now. Expect him to do well in the next game as well.

Rishabh Pant - With a fickle top order, expect the skipper of the team to come in to bat early and help his side getting out of trouble with the bat.

Probable XI: Prithvi Shaw, Tim Seifert, Sarfaraz Khan/Mandeep Singh, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Lalit Yadav, Rovman Powell, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Khaleel Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman
