Delhi and Hyderabad will lock horns at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on May 5. The Orange Army has played nine games and won five while the 2020 finalists have played nine and won four. Hyderabad had a five-match winning streak before losing two back-to-back games.

Although they are not in a do-or-die situation, they would like to win every game possible with the playoffs coming close. On the other hand, the Rishabh Pant-led side would like to put together a few wins which they haven’t done in this tournament. In fact, in the last few games, they haven’t been able to win two back-to-back games. Both teams will be looking to get back the winning momentum.

Team News

Delhi: The team hasn’t looked in rhythm this season. They are tottering on seventh place after losing five of the nine games. Their batting has been highly dependent on the opening pair of Prithvi Shaw and David Warner. Other players like Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant and Lalit Yadav have been inconsistent. In the next game, Sarfaraz Khan could come in for Lalit Yadav to strengthen the batting line-up which is notoriously filled with all-rounders

Key Players:

David Warner: The opening batter has been in fine form this season with three fifties to his name. He has the ability to take the game away from the opposition singlehandedly. The left-hander will be crucial in the team’s quest to get back to the winning ways.

Kuldeep Yadav: The left-arm wrist spinner is the second highest wicket taker of the tournament with 17 wickets in nine games. He has found his old mojo back in the ongoing tournament. Given his form, he will be Delhi’s biggest weapon with the ball in next game.

Probable XI: Prithvi Shaw, David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Sarfaraz Khan, Rovman Powell, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Mustafizur Rahman, Chetan Sakariya

Team News

Hyderabad: The bowlers had a poor day on the field against Chennai in their last game. They conceded 202 runs and could pick up just 2 wickets. However, overall they have had a terrific season with the ball. Also, their batters including Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran are in fine form.

Key Players:

Abhishek Sharma: The left-hander is the highest run-getter for the team with 324 runs in nine games. He has found consistency in the last few games after blowing hot and cold in the initial games. The opening batter will be keen to continue his good run in the tournament.

Umran Malik: The tearaway pacer has picked 15 wickets in nine games and has been an in-form bowler in the last few games. However, he was taken for cleaners by Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway in the last game. Umran will have a point to prove and will be raring to go on the field and perform for his team.

Probable XI:  Kane Williamson (c), Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Shashank Singh, Washington Sundar/Shreyas Gopal/Jagadeesha Suchith, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Marco Jansen, Umran Malik, T Natarajan

Match Details

Venue: Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai

Time: 07:30 PM IST

Pitch Report: The pitch has slowed down drastically and batting isn’t the easiest here. However, if a batter gets set, he can score freely on this ground with short boundary on one side. A score around 170 can be a good one to defend here.
