India vs South Africa 2022 – All you need to know about the Series

India have rested several of their senior players for this series

India are all set to host the Proteas for a five-match T20I series starting on 9 June 2022. Being a dominant force in this shortest format of the game, India will look to continue their winning momentum.

Big players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been rested. Therefore, based on the performance of the Indian T20 Leauge 2022, young players like Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh have been called up.

Veteran wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik earned a comeback call to the squad after his stellar performance for the Bangalore franchise. Even, Hardik Pandya made a comeback after his title-winning season for his Gujarat franchise.

For the bowling department, India went with Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Kuldeep Yadav along with pacers like Harshal Patel and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Despite having a poor Indian T20 Leauge this year, Venkatesh Iyer still got a place in the squad which surprised many supporters.

On the other hand, it will be South Africa’s first T20I series after last year’s World Cup assignment. They will be eager to check their players as this series is crucial ahead of the mega event later this year in Australia. Players like Quinton de Kock, David Miller, and Kagiso Rabada will look to display their full potential this time around. Even Tabraiz Shamsi will look to spread his magic in Indian conditions to rattle the Indian batting line-up.
