After an unfortunate end to their 20-20 World Cup 2022 campaign, India and New Zealand are all set to meet in a complete white-ball series. The T20I series is first in line, with the first match being played at Sky Stadium in Wellington on the 18th of November. Many Indian senior players have taken a rest for the series, giving young players another opportunity. In this listicle, we’ll look at India’s Probable playing XI for the first T20I.

Top Order

Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer

Ishan Kishan has been out of the Indian team for some time, but he has repeatedly proven his worth. He would get a chance to open the innings and would look to do well. Shubman Gill has recently played ODI cricket for India and performed admirably. He will look to do well in the shortest format as well.

Shreyas Iyer may be given the nod ahead of Sanju Samson in the first match. However, his vulnerabilities are known to everyone, and he will have to work on that to stand a chance to maintain his position in the Indian team.

Middle Order

Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Deepak Hooda

The Indian middle-order looks like a star-studded one despite senior players not being present in the team. Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya have been in the form of their lifetimes, and the playing conditions in New Zealand will help them add to it.

While Rishabh Pant has not been in the best form, he will look to grab this opportunity with both hands. Deepak Hooda, on the other hand, who hasn’t been given many chances, has made the most of the ones that have come his way.

Lower Order

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj

Even without Jasprit Bumrah, India has one of the best bowling units in the world. Yuzvendra Chahal, who did not play a single game in the World Cup, will get a chance in the playing XI. He will be very important for the team’s success. Arshdeep Singh, on the other hand, will be playing in different conditions for the first time and can do well.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar will lead the fast bowling unit in the series and will have to get good results himself. Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj will be returning to the team after a brief absence. The Hyderabad-born will have a lot to prove in the series.
