India- England 5th Test, 2022: Schedule, Broadcast Details, Venues- All you need to know
India has set its sights on the upcoming rescheduled Test match against England after a 2-2 draw in the T20I series against South Africa. The team has already landed in England and is playing a practice match with Leicestershire. Notably, some players from the Indian side are playing from the Leicestershire team. Jasprit Bumrah, Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant, and Prasidh Krishna have switched teams for the warm-up game.
The rescheduled match is technically the last match from the India- England series of 2021. This particular match was supposed to be played on September 10, 2021, but a COVID outbreak in the team, prompted the Board to cancel it and fly the team back home.
India lead the Test series with 2-1 margin, having won the second and fourth Test match, while England won the third one. The first Test, held from August 4, 2021, to August 8, 2021, was drawn.
Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami have come back to the team after completing their rest after the Indian T20 League. The India squad playing against South Africa was without their services. Rishabh Pant has also joined the team after leading a young India side to a 2-2 T20I series draw against South Africa. Meanwhile, the Indian white-ball team will be playing against Ireland in a two-match T20I series starting on June 26th, 2022.
