Even after retiring  from international cricket, MS Dhoni is still considered one of the best finishers in the business. In the game against Mumbai on Thursday, he proved why he is still rated so highly. He got Chennai over the line in a nail-biting last-over thriller.

The men in yellow needed 17 runs to win the match. The team lost Pretorious on the first ball of the over before Bravo took the single and the equation came down to 16 in four balls with Dhoni on strike. The master finisher hit one six and to fours to seal the deal for Chennai. Thala turning back the clock left his fans in awe.

Anand Mahindra also was amazed by MS Dhoni’s masterful innings. He took to Twitter to hail the former India skipper. “Well, all I can say is that I’m glad we have the letters MAHI in Mahi-ndra! #MSDhoni Awesome finish,” he wrote in his tweet.

Here is the tweet

Dhoni was dealing in ones and twos earlier in the game, while Dwayne Pretorious was in charge of hitting big shots. The two added 33 runs in the partnership before Pretorious fell. Dhoni had the responsibility of completing the match, which he did in grand style.

Chennai’s bowling was a cause of worry for the team heading into the match against Mumbai. However, they were far better in the match, with Mukesh Chaudhary leading the attack. They were able to restrict Mumbai to 155 runs. Chaudhary dismissed Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan for ducks in the first over of the match and Dewald Brevis for four in the third over. He was awarded the Man of the Match for his performance in the match.
