Rajasthan star batter Shimron Hetmyer has confirmed his availability for the team’s last league against Chennai. Hetmyer flew back home for the birth of his first child ahead of his side’s game against Delhi. He missed out on the game and the next one against Lucknow on May 16. Rajasthan had returned to India ahead of Lucknow clash.

However, he had to go through a three-day hard quarantine which is why he missed out on the game against the KL Rahul-led side. The 2008 winners won the game by 24 runs, which means they have almost ensured their ticket to Kolkata, where the Qualifier One and the Eliminator game will be played. The left-hander has been one of the top contributors to the team’s success in the ongoing season.

The 25-year-old has got 291 runs in 11 games, averaging 72.75 and striking at 166.29 including a fifty. His return to the team will boost the batting line-up which looked a little thin against Delhi and Lucknow. In both games, the team lacked a strong finish with the bat and couldn’t score as much as they would have wanted. With the Guyana player’s availability has improved the team’s batting depth.

Meanwhile, Heymyer confirmed his availability in an unusual manner. As the fans have seen over the year, the Jaipur-based franchise has the habit of coming up with hilarious posts across social media. This time around, they came up with an image of a person wearing a helmet. The person is supposed to be the social media team member. The post was captioned ‘Gulaabi baalo wale Hettie, laut aao’. To which, the West Indies player said ‘Idhar hi hoon’

The game against Chennai will be played on May 20 at the Brabourne Stadium. While the Sanju Samson-led side is on the second spot in the points table, Chennai is languishing on ninth and are out of the playoff race.
