The 10th match of the ICC Academy Summer Cup 2022 saw two teams from Group A clash against each other. Valley Boyz went against Future Mattress who were looking to kickstart their campaign with a win

Match 10: Valley Boyz vs Future Mattress

Having already won a match in the tournament, Valley Boyz went into the game confident of winning the second match. Future Mattress, meanwhile, were winless in the tournament and wanted to taste victory for the very first time.

VB, won the toss and elected to bat first, a decision that proved to be wrong for them in the end. VB’s openers Usman Trumboo (28) and Mohsen Mattoo (31) gave a good start to the batting team and took them to 39 before their first wicket fell.

The middle order failed to make significant contributions to the team and they somehow reached 155/9 on the back of the bowlers’ contribution towards the end. Aryan Lakra with a spell of 4-29-4 was FM’s best bowler with Muhammad Uzair Khan also coming up with three wickets to halt the VB batters.

Coming onto chase what seemed like a decent total, the FM openers began emphatically as both of them smashed a half-century. Zawar Farid made a quickfire 50 off of 27 deliveries with nine fours and one six. The other opener Alishan Sharafu did one better with a knock of 61 off of 28 deliveries including six boundaries and five sixes.

Wash Shah (20) and Aryan Lakra (7) remained on the crease to take their team across the finish line. FM clinched their first win of the tournament as they beat VB by six wickets. With this win, they have overtaken the Valley Boyz on the points table with a better Net Run Rate.
