Rajasthan took on Bangalore in the 14th match of the Indian T20 League 2022. The match was a thrilling affair keeping everybody interested in the contest till the end.

Rajasthan batted first in the match and put up a total of 169 runs in their 20 overs. Bangalore started well but after that, they suddenly lost their way. The team was reeling 87 for 5 in the 13th over of the innings when Dinesh Karthik walked out to bat. He played an aggressive brand of cricket and completely changed the color of the match in a matter of overs. He scored 44 runs off 23 deliveries hitting 7 fours and 1 six in the innings. He took his team to a 4 wickets victory with 5 balls remaining in the match.

After his heroics in the match, in the post-match interview, Karthik revealed his training and preparation before the tournament. “I think I made a conscious effort this year to do justice to myself because the last year, I felt I could have done better. The way I trained was much better this time around. Credit to the person who trained with me. I’m making a conscious effort to tell myself that I’m not done yet,”- said Karthik in the interview.

When I went in, we needed 12 runs per over and had to keep going. I train for these situations. To stay calm and know whom you can takedown. I’ve tried to play as much white-ball cricket as possible, and prepare as many scenarios as possible. Lots of people have spent time with me in this journey, leading up to the tournament and it’s the work that goes unnoticed mostly,”- he further added.

With the kind of form and the composure he is displaying it is evident that Karthik is definitely ‘not finished yet.’
