‘How do I tell my kids mbappe missed both chances?’- Twitter slams Mbappe as he misses a tap-in after Lionel Messi’s thunderous strike

A fallout between Messi and Mbappe has been reported recently.

There is a lot going on at the French football club PSG at the moment. First, they signed Neymar from Barcelona breaking the football transfer record by a massive distance. Then they signed Kylian Mbappe- the costliest young footballer ever for a record weekly wage.

Despite all that, PSG did not win the coveted Champions League. Last year, the Ligue 1 club bought arguably the greatest ever football player, Lionel Messi in search of Champions League glory. They were, however, thrown out of the last year’s competition by Real Madrid in the later stages of the event. PSG, with a reignited motivation, have started this season on the front foot, not losing any of their matches so far.

This season, however, has brought them a different kind of problem. There seems to be a lot of friction between Mbappe and the duo of Messi and Neymar at the club. In a match earlier, Mbappe was seen brushing past Messi and arguing with Neymar for a penalty. The relationship between Mbappe and others seems to have soured.

Notably, Mbappe was given veto power on club transfers and coach appointments at the club in his last deal. And that seems to be the centre of all the hot-headedness at the club. Fans were expecting the reports of dressing room fallout to not affect the play on the pitch but a recent miss from Mabappe seems to suggest otherwise.

PSG played out a derby game against rivals AS Monaco on 29th August which saw Messi produce a sensational shot that hit the woodwork. Mbappe, however, was close by and latched onto the rebounded ball. The French player just needed to tap in the ball and score a goal. However, the 23-year-old missed the easy tap-in.

Fans on social media have been calling it one of the worst misses of the season and some are also claiming that Mbappe missed it by choice due to the tensions between him and Messi.

Let’s look at how Twitter reacted to Mbappe’s miss:
