Everyone was in awe of Virat Kohli‘s outstanding knock against Pakistan in the 20-20 World Cup 2022. The special knock has not yet synced in the minds of the fans, and even the player has not fully processed it.

The former India captain reflected on his match-winning inning against Pakistan and took to social media to express his emotions. Meanwhile, he had no idea that his recent social media posting would spark rumours.

“October 23rd 2022 will always be special in my heart. Never felt energy like that in a cricket game before. What a blessed evening that was,” read the captain of the post. This left fans wondering if the star batter was hinting at a possibility of retirement from the shortest format of the game.

Here is Virat Kohli’s post

Looks like #ViratKohli is taking retirement from T20 cricket that’s how the recent post looks like that,” a user wrote. “Bhai yeh Indian jersey mai picture dalenge aur paragraph likhenge toh retirement wali hi feel aayegi….” another user wrote.

His 82-run innings helped the Men in Blue win the game after being reduced to 31/4 while chasing 160. Many consider it to be the greatest T20 innings of all time, and even Virat called it his personal best performance in the game’s shortest format.

He was rested for the ongoing tour of New Zealand after a spectacular run with the bat in the 20-20 World Cup 2022. The Delhi player will make his comeback in the upcoming Bangladesh tour next month. In the neighbouring country, he would look to carry his batting in the longer format.

In the meantime, the Indian team is currently in New Zealand for a complete white-ball series. Hardik Pandya was in charge of the T20I team, while Shikhar Dhawan is leading the ODI team. India emerged victorious in the T20 leg, which was mostly interrupted by rain. On the other hand, New Zealand took a 1-0 lead in the ODI series on Friday.
