Former UFC champion Conor McGregor will be back in the UFC octagon this year against Michael Chandler as he has already started coaching in the 31st season of The Ultimate Fighter(TUF). During the shooting of the show, Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson was also present with him, he said that McGregor is back to his old form.

“He’s [Conor McGregor] getting back to his roots, his karate… So, for instance, when he fought Jose Aldo, his movement, his wide stance, his speed was on point. Like, he’s back to that, man, at a heavier weight. Which is scary.”

“You’re gonna see a better [Conor]. I think he’s listened to the fans. You know, his last two fights with Poirier was kind of in that boxer mentality. He’s gotta get back to his roots of the movement, and that’s what we’re gonna see from Conor next time he steps out there.

Man, continue with the same stance: Henry Cejudo

Talking about ‘The Notoroius’ last appearance, he was last seen inside the octagon in the main event at UFC 264 in July 2021 in a trilogy clash against former interim UFC lightweight champion Dustin Poirier. The fight was stopped in the first round after McGregor broke his ankle, an injury he has been recovering from since.

Meanwhile, the former UFC double champ Henry Cejudo has a different opinion about McGregor and said that his Karate stance against Poirier was the reason behind his loss. He also advised him to get better at distance to avoid the powerful jabs as he has also done this when he used to fight.

“Conor McGregor you cannot just continue to keep pressing people off the karate stance. It’s the same reason why I came away from it. Even though Daniel Cormier says I have the best karate stance in MMA, I had to lean away from it because it is a little too dangerous… So if I was to give him some advice, I’d tell him, ‘Man, continue with the same stance but just become better at distance.’
