Here is the list of all Indian batters to score century on Test debut
Jaiswal became only the third Indian batter to score a century on debut against West Indies.
Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal created history in the first Test of the ongoing two-match series against West Indies by scoring a century in his debut Test innings against West Indies in Roseau, Dominica. The young talent showcased his skills and determination, reaching an unbeaten 143 to cement his place among the elite list of Indian cricketers. Jaiswal’s achievement adds him to an esteemed group of players who have achieved this remarkable feat in their first Test appearance. The list includes renowned names such as Sourav Ganguly, Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, and more.

The third player to score a century on debut against the West Indies
With his amazing batting performance, Jaiswal also became the third Indian batter to score a century on Debut against the West Indies. Following the trend of Mumbai batters scoring centuries against the West Indies, Jaiswal joined Rohit Sharma and Prithvi Shaw on the list.
Notably, there are 17 Indians who have scored a tonne in their debut Test match. While 14 out of them scored it in their debut innings. The three players who scored centuries in the second innings of the debut test are Lala Amarnath, Abbas Ali Baig, and GR Vishwanath.
It’s worth noting that the last four Indian batters who scored a century in their debut innings are from Mumbai. Jaiswal joined Rohit, Shaw, and Shreyas Iyer on this list. Meanwhile, after hammering a brilliant century, Jaiswal also became the highest run scorer in his debut Test innings away from home for India. He surpassed Sourav Ganguly and Suresh Raina in this elite list.
