With the recent change in personnel, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is currently in a restructuring mode. The government fired former Pakistan cricketer Ramiz Raja as PCB chairman, replacing him with Najam Sethi. The development occurred just days after Pakistan was defeated 0-3 at home in the Test series against England.
Raja, who was fired well before the end of his contract, has spoken out about his abrupt dismissal, during which he slammed the new PCB chairman. In an hour-long interaction with fans, the video “Fan Forum With Ramiz Raja” is available on YouTube.
Raja also reveals the ill-treatment he faced the morning after the decision was announced, stating he was not allowed to take his clothes, and the atmosphere felt as if FIA had raided the building. Former Pakistan cricketer Yasir Ali shared his thoughts on the recent turn of events, believing Raja is to blame for his downfall. In addition to highlighting Raja’s flaw, the bowler advised Raja to stop crying about it.
“There were so many controversies. Considering his post, he should have acted like a leader. Instead, he was fighting with the media, with cricketers, getting involved in selection and pitches. He should oversee such matters instead of getting involved in petty issues.
“You say that a cricketer shouldn’t face such ill-treatment, but what was he doing for the one and half years when he held the position. Why didn’t he make a rule that there won’t be any political interference,” said Ali during an interaction with Samaa TV.

Ramiz Raja as PCB chairman
Raja served as PCB chairman for 15 months after being appointed in September 2021 by former Prime Minister and World Cup-winning captain Imran Khan. During his brief tenure, Pakistan made tremendous progress in white-ball cricket, reaching the semifinals and finals of the previous two 20-20 World Cups. They also advanced to the Asia Cup finals, where they defeated India in the Super 4 stage.
