‘He told me I had to watch it’ – Rafael Nadal reveals that he warmed up for the third round of Wimbledon 2008 by watching Terminator
Rafael Nadal, the Spanish Tennis star is still at his peak and one of the best in the modern-day game. Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic are considered to be the top three in the Tennis sport.
The Spaniard reached the number one spot after defeating Roger Federer in the 2008 Wimbledon Finals. He finished the 2008 Tennis season as the number one player after remaining at number two for 160 weeks.
Rafael Nadal, recently, revealed that he watched Terminator in order to warm up for the third-round match against Nicolas Kiefer in the 2008 Wimbledon.
“Carlos Moya put it in my bag in Paris one day when we were shopping. He told me I had to watch it. A classic,” Nadal was quoted as saying.
Nadal defeated Nicolas Kiefer in straight sets and then went on to beat Roger Federer in the finals. Interestingly, Carlos Moya lost to Rafael Nadal in the Chennai Open, India in the same year. The 36-year-old defeated Roger Federer in the 2008 Dubai Open.
Rafael Nadal has opted out of the National Bank Open citing injury reasons.
“After speaking with my doctor, we prefer to take things in a conservative way and give a few more days before starting to compete,” Nadal was quoted as saying. The legendary Tennis star told that he wants to be conservative before he steps onto the tennis court.
The Spanish veteran was a beast in the year 2008. The Spaniard will hope to have a good time at the US Open which might enable him to finish at the top of the rankings once again. But before participating in the US Open, Nadal would be hoping to participate in the Western and Southern Open in Cincinnati.
