‘Harne Ke liye aa raha h’ – Fans react as Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis joins team ahead of Indian T20 League 2023
Faf du Plessis, who led Bangalore to third place last year, will be hoping to help the team go a couple of extra steps towards their first Indian T20 League trophy.
Faf du Plessis, the captain of the Bangalore team, has joined the squad ahead of the Indian T20 League 2023 season. The right-handed batter was most recently seen leading the Joburg Super Kings to the semi-finals of the inaugural SA20 tournament.
Du Plessis, who led Bangalore to third place last year, will be hoping to help the team go a couple of extra steps towards their first Indian T20 League trophy. The three-time finalists will begin their campaign on April 2 against the Mumbai team at the iconic Chinnaswamy Stadium, which will host an Indian T20 League match for the first time in four years.
Before that, the franchise will pay tribute to its legends, Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers, at the Unbox Event on March 26. It will also be the first full squad, with players gradually making their way after completing their international commitments.
After failing to qualify for the playoffs of the inaugural Women’s T20 League, Bangalore will be hoping for a much more potent performance from their men’s side. The Women’s team ended in 4th place with just two wins in their eight games in the league stage.
Aside from the Bangalore captain, Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson has also arrived for his participation in the highly anticipated tournament. In the previous edition of the competition, Samson led Rajasthan to the finals, where they were defeated by Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat.
Rajasthan will begin their season on April 2 against the Hyderabad team. The men in Pink and Blue will play their home matches at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, but the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati will host two of them.
Bangalore Squad for Indian T20 League 2023:
Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Mohammad Siraj, Faf Du Plessis, Harshal Patel, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dinesh Karthik, Shahbaz Ahmad, Rajat Patidar, Anuj Rawat, Akash Deep, Josh Hazlewood, Mahipal Lomror, Finn Allen, Suyash Prabhudessai, Karn Sharma, Siddharth Kaul, David Willey, Reece Topley, Himanshu Sharma, Manoj Bhandage, Rajan Kumar, Avinash Singh, Sonu Yadav, Micheal Bracewell
