‘Haa Dhoni bhi single hee lega’ – Fans react as Delhi crowd chants ‘single, single’ when Ravindra Jadeja was on strike with MS Dhoni
DC hosted CSK in the Arun Jaitley Stadium for the 67th game of IPL 2023
The action returned in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday, with Delhi Capitals (DC) hosting Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. While Delhi Capitals are already out of the running for the four playoff berths in this year’s edition of the IPL, the Super Kings face stiff competition from the likes of Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants.
The visitors won the toss, and MS Dhoni elected to bat first. CSK made sure they capitalised on the opportunity with exceptional batting as they posted a massive 223-run total. CSK openers Devon Conway (87 off 52) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (79 off 50) were the stars for the visitors. They were further assisted by cameos from Shivam Dube (22 off 9) and Ravindra Jadeja (20 off 7).

Interestingly, when Ravindra Jadeja was on strike, batting with MS Dhoni in the final two overs of Chennai’s innings, the Delhi crowd chanted ‘single, single’, urging the allrounder to take a single and have MS Dhoni on strike. MS Dhoni’s fan following is unbelievable. Earlier today, there was a video as well released of fans in Delhi running after the CSK team bus to catch a glance of MS Dhoni.

Next, in the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the second game of the day will see the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in an exceptional match with the lives of both teams on the line. Following this, Sunday would be the last day of the league stages as another doubleheader awaits fans. The first game will see the eliminated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) try and spoil Mumbai Indians’ (MI) party at the Wankhede Stadium. The final match of the league stages will feature Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) trying their best to qualify while playing against the already-qualified Gujarat Titans (GT).
