India vs Australia 2023
‘Ha Bhai yhin bol-bol k wc bhi haar Jana’ – Fans slam Rohit Sharma for backing Suryakumar Yadav despite his poor form in ODIs
Suryakumar Yadav bagged three consecutive golden ducks against Australia.
Star India batter Suryakumar Yadav is not having a good time with bat as he bagged three golden ducks during the ODI series against Australia. The World’s number one T20I batter is struggling to establish himself in the ODI format. Surya’s recent performance has put him under scanners as his form is one of the biggest concerns for India with the ODI World Cup only a few months away. Meanwhile, India skipper Rohit Sharma reacted to his form and backed him saying that he only played ‘three balls’ in the series.
In the series decider game in Chennai, India demoted Surya and sent him to bat at number seven which is not his usual number. Although, he still failed to capitalize on the opportunity and got out on the very first ball to Ashton Agar. Eventually, India lost the series and the Indian skipper made to answer on Surya’s batting form and his future in the team.
Speaking with reporters after the game India’s Skipper said, “He only played three balls in three (games) this series. I don’t know how much to look into it. He got three good balls, to be honest. Today, it wasn’t that good ball; he should have gone forward. He knows best.”
Will India drop Suryakumar Yadav?
The 32-year-old Mumbai batter had a phenomenal year in 2022 when he achieved the top ranking in the shortest format of the game. Although, he has immense potential but had failed to replicate it in ODIs. In 21 innings he has scored just 433 runs while averaging less than 25. Speaking on his ODI future skipper Rohit Sharma said that he is going through a lean patch.
Rohit said, “He plays spin so well. We have seen that over the last couple of years. That’s why we held him back and give him that role for the last 15-20 overs where he can play his game, but, unfortunately, he could only play three balls. That can happen to anyone. But the potential and ability are always there. He is just going through that phase right now.”
As Rohit supported Suryakumar Yadav in his lean phase but his response didn’t go well with the fans they slammed the Indian skipper for supporting Surya. Fans also asked him to support Sanju Samson and other players in the same manner. A Twitter user said, “ Aise his world Cup har jayenge yaar.”

#SanjuSamson also has the potential why is he not getting all these chances? #IPL2023

Last time sanju was playing against newzealand and when he scored 36 runs in the first odi they dropped him for the 2nd odi. This is the kind of backing they give to some players.

Rutu was dropped after a single series
But Surya needs time..
hypocrisy

Shameless captain & coach keep backing a player who had done nothing in ODI format.
Pant not available, Iyer back injury, SKY got the backing. We're doing the same mistake like 2019 WC, exposing middle order & choked if top 3 failed.
Lots of deserving players warming the bench.

Ha bhai ! First it was Virat and than KL Rahul and now Surya Kumar !! If someone is going through rough time why don’t they sit out , reflect and play domestic cricket find some form and make a come back !! And instead play who is performing in domestic circuit consistently !!

The day our team and captain start thinking "not every player is for all format" we might genuinely win something big

Going through that phase of his career??? There are no different phases in his ODI career. He is yet to prove himself in the ODI format.
