'Gotta love the Djokester' - Fans react as Novak Djokovic thanks spectator for shutting mumbling fan in AO 2023

The Australian Open 2023 (AO 2023) is ongoing and the players are giving it their all to clinch a win in the tournament. On January 19, Thursday, Novak Djokovic, the Serbian giant, faced off against the French tennis star Enzo Couacaud in the second round of the tournament and eventually won the game with a scoreline of 1-6 7-6 (7-5) 2-6 0-6.

One has to agree that the 35-year-old was at his very best post losing the second set, eventually making a comeback in the third and fourth sets to win the game. The contest between the two in AO 2023 was at its very best when the two gave their very best in the second set, which was won by the French tennis star, only to lose the remaining sets and the game.

Another moment to take away from the game was a spectator shutting a mumbling fan and Djokovic thanking him for helping him. To add more, during a service, a fan kept mumbling and one of the spectators was quick enough to shut him. Djokovic, who took cognizance of the same, thanked the spectator for shutting the mumbling fan with a cheeky smile.

Whatever comes, I’m happy with it: Enzo Couacaud

Prior to the start of the game, Couacaud said that he would be happy with whatever comes his way and claimed that he is a super chill guy off the tennis court. One has to agree that the French star gave his all to clinch a win on the day, but in vain as the Serbian giant was way above his capabilities to be defeated.

“I had too much food, watched too many episodes of Friends, played cards and talked a lot of crap with my coach. We get along well. ver the past few days, my personality helped me big time. I’m a super chill guy off the court. Whatever comes, I’m happy with it,” Couacaud was quoted as saying before the match to ATPTour.com.

“We had to wait, [so I] played cards and had a nap. I’m easygoing, I don’t over-stress things and I think that helped me a lot not to waste energy the last couple days. I think it’s super exciting. Everything he’s done in this sport, all the records, everything is outstanding. He hasn’t lost here since 2018,” said the French tennis star further.
