MI vs RCB

Two of the biggest teams in the IPL, Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore met in the 54th match of the IPL 2023. The mouthwatering contest brought the entire nation to a standstill and Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli faced off against each other with millions of fans right behind them.

The match began with MI winning the toss at the Wankhede Stadium and electing to bowl first. RCB started off poorly as Kohli knocked an outside off delivery into the gloves of Ishan Kishan. Captain Faf du Plessis however continued his brilliant run of form and brought out another of his half-centuries in the tournament.

Glenn Maxwell (68) came good with the bat as well as he took MI bowlers to the cleaners. Dinesh Karthik played a helping hand of 30 on 18 deliveries. With the help of brilliant batting, RCB posted a monumental total of 199/6.  Jason Behrendorff was the pick of the bowlers from the MI side as he took 3 wickets.

When it came to the run chase, MI started off well with Ishan Kishan bringing a brilliant 42 off 21 with 4 fours and 4 sixes. Captain Rohit Sharma (7) went off easily but his wicket fall brought out Suryakumar Yadav who took the game by the scruff by the neck and blasted RCB bowlers all around the ground.

In just 35 deliveries Yadav made 83 runs with 7 fours and 6 huge sixes to take the game away from RCB. Nehal Wadhera also continued his great run of form as he made 52 off 34 with 4 fours and 3 sixes.

In the end, MI won the match by a huge 6-wicket margin with 21 balls still to be bowled. MI showcased their powerful batting lineup and thumped the Bangalore team. With this win, MI move to 3rd on the points table. RCB meanwhile remain at 7th with 10 points in 11 matches.
