Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma may have given a mouth-shutting reply to Hardik Pandya ahead of the Eliminator against Lucknow Super Giants. The former champions will take on the Krunal Pandya-led side in the virtual quarterfinal on May 24. This game will be played at the Chepauk stadium which hosted the first qualifier between the defending champions Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings on May 23.

Meanwhile, during the league stages, GT skipper and former MI player, Hardik Pandya made a statement that wasn’t welcomed by the MI fans. Apparently, he was trying to decode the formula for winning an IPL title. Pandya said that a team can either win by having the best players (referring to MI) or have the possible environment (CSK). Aftermath, the fans tried to remind him how the five-time winners took the best out of him.

“There are two formulas for winning in cricket. One is to get the best players in auction like MI and other is to take any player In auction and give them a good environment and getting the best out of players like csk team,” GT skipper said in the Aava De With Hardik Pandya.

You have to back players and build relationships: Rohit Sharma

Meanwhile, ahead of the knockout game, Sharma said that it is important to back players and build relationships. The right-hander added that he wants the players to approach him freely about their issues.

“You have to back players & build relationships with players that is how you build the trust, then talk to them openly & I want youngsters in the team to approach me with any of their issues,” Rohit Sharma said in an interaction with Jio Cinema.

Talking about MI, they qualified for the playoffs after beating Sunrisers Hyderabad and some luck as well. They also needed GT to beat the Royal Challengers Bangalore because of their poor Net Run Rate. Meanwhile, the fans have been praising Sharma.
