Former Purple Cap winner set to join Lucknow as Mark Wood’s replacement
According to the reports, the Lucknow franchise is set to sign Australia pacer Andrew Tye for the Indian T20 League 2022 as Mark Wood’s replacement. Mark Wood was signed by the franchise for 7.5 crores INR. Earlier this month, Wood sustained an elbow injury during the first Test between England and the West Indies and was ruled out of the cash-rich league.
Reportedly, Lucknow approached Bangladesh pacer, Taskin Ahmed but the pacer was denied the NOC by the Bangladesh Cricket Board. Later, reports emerged that Lucknow is set to sign Blessing Muzarabani as Wood’s replacement. While Muzarabani is set to join Lucknow, he will most probably join the team as a net bowler, with Andrew Tye joining as Wood’s replacement.
