Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly makes bold prediction for India vs England Test series
With Ollie Pope at the crease England have got to a score where they have a chance of saving or maybe winning the Test match.
The first Test of the India vs England 5- 5-match Test series is in the balance right now with Ollie Pope scoring a magnificent century and is still unbeaten. There is now a chance for both sides to get into the game and win it. The Indians had complete control of the game in the 1st innings where they got England bowled out for just 246 and in reply scored 436 putting the English batters under pressure once again. With Ollie Pope at the crease England have got to a score where they have a chance of saving or maybe winning the Test match. This 2nd innings of the game has made a game even more interesting and it is still anybody’s game.
There are still some experts who believe that India still has a better chance of winning the Test match and the entire series. Even after Pope’s innings, he will still have to play with the tail and the lead will not be as much to affect the depth and talent of the Indian batting lineup. However, the game is still in that phase where any team can make or break at the right moment. With England still going the Indian bowlers are still under pressure and will be hoping to get this team bowled out as soon as possible.
Ganguly’s bold prediction
Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly is not only known to be one of the best cricket administrators right now but also one of the best captains in international cricket. Ganguly who has already seen the good, bad and ugly nature of the game, will no doubt give his opinion on who he thinks is most likely to dominate in this series. Ganguly has also made a bold statement regarding the series on India Today saying “ India will win the series; the matter is whether they will win it 4-0 or 5-0. Every Test will be decisive”.
Ganguly ended the statement by saying that England needed to score a lot more runs in the first innings to win this game. These might be slightly biased opinions of Ganguly regarding the series, but we have to remember that England has not had the best of records in the sub-continent against the Indian team and it has still been a big struggle for them. We do not know whether the Indians will continue to dominate the whole series once again since this English side has been known to surprise even the best teams in the world.
