Reports have emerged that former Indian cricketer Praveen Kumar and his son narrowly escaped a devastating car accident in Meerut. The incident took place on Tuesday night when their vehicle was struck by a speeding truck. Fortunately, both Praveen Kumar and his son managed to evade the accident, although their car suffered significant damage.

The local authorities have apprehended the truck driver in connection with the incident. Praveen Kumar, renowned for his prowess as a fast bowler, resides in Multan Nagar, Meerut. The news has brought immense relief to the cricket fraternity and its ardent supporters. Praveen Kumar’s contributions to Indian cricket have been highly regarded, and his fans will undoubtedly breathe a sigh of relief knowing that he and his son emerged unscathed from this traumatic incident.

It’s worth noting that Praveen Kumar has been phenomenal throughout his career. He played a vital role in India’s triumphant campaign in the 2008 CB series, captained by MS Dhoni, held in Australia. Moreover, he showcased his skills in 119 matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Rishabh Pant suffered a car accident last year

Last year, in December, star India wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant suffered a fatal car accident as well. He struck the divider while driving from Delhi to Roorkee to celebrate the New Year with his mom. Despite suffering severe injuries, Pant has successfully recovered and is currently rehabbing at the National Cricket Academy. His injuries led him to miss important games for India, including the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the World Test Championship finals, and the Indian Premier League.

It’s worth noting that fans and the Indian Cricket Board are looking to get Pant back in action before the upcoming ODI World Cup. India will host the upcoming edition of the World Cup from October 5 to November 19 in 12 cities. India will hope Pant can get match-fit and participate in the games.
