Mumbai is having the worst season in the history of the Indian T20 League since its inception in 2008. The franchise are currently sitting at the last spot on the points table as they have lost all of their eight games played thus far in the ongoing Indian T20 League 2022.

Besides, they have become the first team of the ongoing season to be eliminated from the playoff race. Last year as well, the team missed out on the playoffs. In this listicle, we will discuss five players, who were part of the franchise till last year, are doing well for other teams this season.

Five players who are doing well for other teams

  1. Hardik Pandya

Pandya was part of the Mumbai setup from 2015 to 2021. Ahead of the Indian T20 League 2022 auction, he was signed by Gujarat and was appointed as the skipper. In the ongoing season, the right-hander has scored 295 runs in six games averaging 73.75 and striking at 136.57, including three fifties.

During his stay at Mumbai, he used to be an integral part of the team while batting in the lower-middle order. Now, with Kieron Pollard struggling for form, Mumbai are dearly missing the services of Hardik Pandya.

2. Quinton de Kock

The left-hander from South Africa used to play for Mumbai from 2019 to 2021. This year, he was signed by Lucknow and has amassed 225 runs in eight games at an average of 28.12 and striking rate of 133.13. He played a big role in Mumbai’s title winning campaigns in 2019 and 2020, scoring more than 500 runs each in both the seasons.

Currently, the Men In Blue and Gold are missing his services as Ishan Kishan is struggling with the bat after scoring two fifties in the first two games of the season.

3. Trent Boult

The left-arm pacer from New Zealand played for the five-time winners in 2020 and 2021. Just like de Kock, he also contributed massively to the team’s title win in 2020, claiming 25 wickets in 15 games at an average of 18.28. This year, he is playing for Rajasthan and is having a fine season.

In the six games played for the 2008 winners, he has picked seven wickets and has given an able support to the likes of Prasidh Krishna and Obed McCoy in the team.

4. Rahul Chahar

The right-arm leg-spinner is currently playing for Punjab and is currently their highest wicket-taker. He has picked 10 wickets in eight games at an average of 19.40 and a strike rate of 15.90. His economy rate of 7.32 isn’t too bad either. He used to be part of the Mumbai setup from 2018 to 2021. Currently, the Rohit Sharma-led side is lacking in the spin bowling department as they virtually don’t have a strike bowler.

5. Krunal Pandya

The elder brother of Hardik Pandya played for Mumbai from 2016 to 2021. Currently, he is representing the newly-entered Lucknow side. Talking about his performances with the ball, the left-arm slow bowler has picked seven wickets in eight games, averaging 22.29.

His strike rate of 19.71 and economy rate of 6.78 also inspire a lot of confidence. With the bat, the left-hander has hit 112 runs batting down the order at a strike-rate of 147.37. Just like the above mentioned players, he was also a vital part of the Mumbai setup till last year.
