India tour of England 2022
‘Felt more like India vs USA than India vs England’ – Twitter hails team India for a massive win in the first ODI against England
Twitter users went on to laud the brilliant performance and collective teamwork of India as they completely outplayed the hosts in the first match of the series.
India and England locked horns in the first of the three-match ODI series. Both teams played this match at London’s Kennington Oval Stadium. The visitors completely outplayed Jos Buttler’s men in the opening fixture of the series. India first bundled up the English inning on the score of only 110 runs.
Senior pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami bowled exceptionally well. They both jointly scalped the nine wickets of England. Chasing the target of 111, India’s opening pair of skipper Rohit Sharma and senior batter Shikhar Dhawan made it look very easy. They both made an unbeaten opening partnership of 114 runs for the first wicket to finish the line for India.

Jasprit Bumrah was adjudged as player of the Match for his stunning bowling performance
After winning the toss at Kennington Oval, the visitors’ skipper Rohit Sharma asked England to bat first on the tough turf. The mighty batting lineup of England completely looked clueless against the senior Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah. The 28-year-old broke the spine of English top-order. He claimed the four big wickets including the likes of Jason Roy, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, and Liam Livingstone.
Later on, Bumrah went on to scalp two more wickets and registered a five-wicket haul. The Ahmedabad-based senior pacer scalped a total of six wickets. He conceded just 19 runs in 7.3 overs with three maiden overs to his name. Mohammed Shami accompanied Jasprit Bumrah as he also scalped three wickets. Prasidh Krishna claimed the wicket of senior all-rounder Moeen Ali. With the poor display of batting, the hosts got all out on the low total of 110 runs in 25.2 overs.
Chasing, the target, the opening pair of skipper Rohit Sharma and senior batter Shikha Dhawan helped India to easily achieve the target. India eventually bagged the match with a massive margin of 10 wickets.
With a win in the first match of the three-match ODI series, India has taken a lead in the series with a score line of 1-0.

English cricket is on a rapid transformation mode. Earlier, they used to play ODI in T20 style but now have begun playing it in T10 style. Hence, ending up in an all-out at a T10 score ?#indiavsengland #IndianCricketTeam
