Emirates D20 2022: Match 6 Review- Abu Dhabi vs Fujairah
Emirates D20 2022 Tournament is off to a flyer with six games completed so far. The games have been very competitive with all teams fighting close battles with each other. The sixth match was another exciting game in the league when Abu Dhabi went head to head with Fujairah.
Winning the toss Fujairah elected to field and asked Abu Dhabi to bat first. The openers Ghulam Farid and Atta Ur Rahim got off to a very good start with five runs in the first and nine in the second. On the first ball of the fourth over, however, Atta Ur Rahim was run out by Hamdan Tahir, having made just four runs. Their next batter, Ethan D’souza also went early when the team’s score was just 23/2.
Captain Ali Abid, walked in next shouldering the batting for the team. With 25 off of 26 balls, the batter made a good partnership with the Farid. Abu Dhabi’s third wicket fell at 72 when Umair Ali caught and bowled Ghulam Farid in the 12th over. With a quickfire knock of 26 off of 17, by Muhammad Uzair Khan, the Abu Dhabi team was able to make a total of 126/10.
The Fujairah team came in with a strong challenge of their own. With the opening duo Hamdan Tahir and captain Muhammad Waseem, the Fujairah team was able to make 59 runs before their first wicket, Waseem (38) fell. Usman Khan walked in next but could not do much as he was caught out by Murtaza off of a Fayyaz Ahmed ball in the ninth over. Rohan Mustafa was the next wicket to fall on 103/3. Asif Khan (26*) came in next and took the Fujairah team across the line with Tahir (41*).
The game ended with Fujairah winning the match with seven wickets remaining. They now sit atop the pinnacle of the league table with two wins in two games. Abu Dhabi on the other hand is at third with one win in two games.
