Emirates D20 is bringing a hoard of exciting games every day. With competition strong throughout the table, teams are fighting for a place in the semi-final. Match 19th and 20th were similar high-intensity games in the Emirates D20 League.

Let’s review the Emirates D20 League matches 19th and 20th and look at how they played out.

Match 19: Dubai vs Sharjah

In the 19th match, the bottom occupants clashed with Sharjah, who sit at second spot. The match offered Sharjah an opportunity to get level with the table-toppers Fujairah but the chance was lost as Dubai came out as the winner.

After winning the toss, Dubai elected to bat first. With just one win in six games, hopes were not very high for a Dubai win but that’s what they did. Scoring 141/6 while batting first Dubai laid out a good target in front of Sharjah.

The wicket-keeper Punya Mehra came out with an impressive knock of 62 off of 53 balls and with the help of Ammar Badami’s 34(25), gave Dubai a good total. While chasing, the Sharjah team faltered from the word get-go.

Their both openers were dismissed for ducks, derailing the whole chase. The captain Fayyaz Ahmad, however, steadied the innings with his 49(47) and Ameer Hamza contributing 22 off 23 but could not get his team across the finishing line. Muhammad Farooq from the Dubai team was the pick of the bowlers with his four wickets.

Match 20: Ajman vs Emirates Blues

The 20th game of the Emirates D20 League brought out Ajman and Emirates Blues with a chance for both teams to move up the table. After winning the toss, Emirates Blue chose to field. Batting first, the Ajman team made an impressive 168/8 in 20 overs.

Their total was a team effort as six batters made scores between 15 and 36. The Emirates Blues team, however, also gave a strong team performance to chase down the target on the last ball of the match.

Fahad Nawaz with an impressive 47(37) and Nilansh Keswani with 27(21). It was however Sanchit Sharma at the end who took their team home with 29 off of 12 balls. Sanchit was also their best bowler taking four wickets.
