‘Ek film to iss IPL ke close matches pe banni chahiye’ – Fans react as SRH beat RR by 4 wickets in last ball thriller

In the 52nd match of the Indian Premier League 2023, Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Rajasthan Royals by 4 wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. In the last balls thriller, Abdul Samad hit six off the last ball to clinch the game for the SRH. Meanwhile, Jos Buttker’s amazing half-century of 95 runs went in vain as Sandeep Sharma failed to defend 17 runs in the last over.

Earlier, after winning the toss, RR skipper Sanju Samson opted to bat first. His decision went well with the hosts as they added 54 runs for the first wicket, thanks to openers. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler hammered all around the park and added another 50+ partnerships. Jaiswal, in his innings, scored 35 runs off 18 balls with the help of five boundaries and two sixes. He was dismissed by Marco Jansen in the fifth over of the game.

However, after his departure, Buttler, along with Sanju Samson, added 138 runs for the second wicket. Buttler, in his amazing innings, scored 95 runs off 59 balls with the help of ten boundaries and four sixes. He missed out on a well-deserved century as Bhuvneshwar Kumar trapped him in front of the wickets.

After his departure, Samson and Hetmyer added another 22 runs to post 214/2 in 20 overs. Samson, in his innings, scored unbeaten 66 runs off 38 balls with the help of four boundaries and five sixes. For SRH, Bhuvi and Jansen picked a wicket each while the other bowlers failed to make an impact.

SRH clinched the game on the last balls thriller

Chasing 200+ was not an easy task for the visitors, but opener Abhishek Sharma and Anmolpreet Singh added 51 runs for the first wicket. Singh scored 33 runs off 25 balls with the help of six and four boundaries. After his departure, Sharma, along with Rahul Tripathi, added 65 runs for the second wicket. Tripathi missed out on a well-deserved half-century as he scored 47 runs off 29 balls with the help of three sixes and two boundaries.

On the other hand, Sharma scored a brilliant half-century as he hammered 55 runs off 34 balls with the help of two sixes and five boundaries. In the end, Glen Philips scored 25 runs off 7 balls with the help of a boundary and three sixes. However, on the last ball, Abdul Samad got out while trying to score a boundary. Though that ball turned out to be a no-ball, and on a free hit Samad won it for SRH with a six.
