‘Ek aur wicket girta hua’ – Fans react to Shardul Thakur’s glamourous wedding photos

The wedding season is well and truly upon the Indian Cricket Team. After Axar Patel, KL Rahul, and Hardik Pandya, Shardul Thakur is the latest to add his name to the list of Cricketers who spent lavishly on grand weddings in the New Year. Thakur got married to his long-time friend Mittali Parulkar on Monday in Mumbai.

Several of Thakur’s cricket colleagues including Shreyas Iyer, Rohit Sharma, and Abhishek Nayar attended the wedding ahead of the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) Series. Photos from the grand wedding went viral on the Internet, sparking immediate reactions from fans.

Earlier, the Haldi ceremony took place where the pacer was seen dancing to the popular Bollywood song “Jhingaat” with his family and friends. Videos and pictures from the ceremony have been shared on social media, with many talking about Shardul’s handsome look in a traditional kurta and Mittali’s beautiful appearance with Mehendi in her hands.

Several videos of the pacer’s sangeet have gone viral on the internet. One of them has especially caught the eyes of the netizens. The video, believed to be from the couple’s sangeet ceremony features another Team India star showing off his singing skills. We’re talking about Shreyas Iyer.

Shreyas Iyer was one among the many special invitees to the function who was seen on stage singing shoulder to shoulder with the groom-to-be. However, later in the video, Shardul gets off stage to dance with his fiancé, Mittali Parulkar as his national teammate sings on the stage.

Thakur, dubbed as the ‘lord’ of the Indian Cricket Team is not is action in the ongoing series against Australia. He is in the squad for the ODI series against the Aussies and would be expected to make his return to competitive Cricket after a brief break. He was last seen in the national outfit while playing in the home series against New Zealand. He put in a good all-round show in the series taking six wickets in three games including a three-wicket haul and a handy knock of 25 in the last ODI.
