Ben Stokes, the skipper of the England Test team, has begun bowling across the nets. But after having surgery on his knee a few months ago, he has been having problems with it.  According to certain sources, the left-hander will start the season as a pure batter only. But in the forthcoming games against India, he could have to be the team’s primary speed bowler. Because of this, Ben Stokes’ bowling would have given the team far more balance. He can particularly be the key player if they plan to launch an all-out spin attack.

What unfolds when both skippers release the team sheet for the second Test between India and England in Visakhapatnam will be intriguing to watch. The Test begins on February 2, and it is anticipated that India would mount a formidable comeback. Due to their varying ailments, KL Rahul as well as Ravindra Jadeja will not be included in the team for the second Test, and this causes them a few worries.

“What is there to lose” : England captain Ben Stokes

Youngster Shoaib Bashir may earn his Test debut during the India series, according to England captain Ben Stokes’s hint. Due to visa complications, Bashir was unable to play for England in the first Test match of the series. However, he is anticipated to be a contender for the second Test in Vizag. If the ball turns in Vizag, Bashir would be a viable alternative for England. Since  Jack Leach is out of the match due to a left knee injury, Bashir might get a chance.

Ben Stokes said, “He’s ruled out of the second Test,” Stokes said. “Unfortunately, the knock he took resulted in a haematoma in his leg. It’s a big shame for us, a big shame for Jack, obviously after a long time out of the game with his back. If Bashir was to play on this tour, then the great thing he has on his side is, what is there to lose?”
