Rajinikanth’s Baashha is undoubtedly one of the superstar’s fan favourites. The gangster action film, which was released in 1995, has gained cult status among fans and has been remade in several languages. Superstar Rajinikanth won over the hearts of his fans with his stellar performance in this film. There have been several discussions over the years about having sequels for the film, but the creators themselves felt that they wouldn’t be able to match the original film. However, according to a recent Hindustan Times report, director Suresh Krissna has revealed that if Baashha were to be remade, Ajith Kumar would be the ideal choice to play Rajinikanth’s character.
Needless to say, Yennai Arindhaal fans were overjoyed to hear the news from the legendary director himself. Both Ajith Kumar and Rajinikanth are well-known for their massive fan bases. Although the two have not worked together, Ajith did appear in Billa, a remake of the Petta actor’s 1980 film of the same name. The remake, which was released in 2007, was a huge success, and it even spawned a sequel in 2012.
