‘Did he just called Gautam Gemphir a devil’- Fans react as Hardik Pandya says ‘You need to be a proper devil to hate MS Dhoni’

Chennai Super Kings are set to take on Gujarat Titans in the Qualifier 1 match of the IPL 2023 on Tuesday at MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai. The two finished at the top position at the end of the league stage.

Gujarat topped the points table with 10 wins in 14 matches, while Chennai Super Kings finished with 8 wins and 17 points to their name. Ahead of a highly anticipated clash, Gujarat skipper, Hardik Pandya showered some loving words for CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Pandya sheds light on his equation with MS Dhoni and mentioned that only a devil can ‘hate’ MS Dhoni.

“A lot of people think Mahi is serious and all that. For me, I crack jokes and I don’t see him as a Mahendra Singh Dhoni. I have learnt a lot of things from him, a lot of positive things not just while watching him, not even much talking,” Pandya said.

“For me, he’s just my dear brother, dear friend who I do pranks with, who I chill out with. I will always be a Mahendra Singh Dhoni fan. You need to be a proper devil to hate him,” he added.

Chennai Super Kings have, once again, played exceedingly well under the leadership of MS Dhoni. After having exhibited a dismal performance last season, they stormed back to top four this year by dishing out some serious performance.

Devon Conway and Shivam Dube’s form has been a major force behind their brilliant season. Deepak Chahar has made his way back into the team, while the likes of Tushar Deshpande and Pathirana have been bowling brilliantly.

However, on the other hand, Gujarat Titans have been no less than sensational this year. They have been the best side of the tournament so far. In their last game, Gujarat chased down a massive score of198 runs in just 19.1 overs against RCB, thanks to a sensational ton from Shubman Gill.

He has been a force to reckon with this season and is a player to watch out for on Tuesday.

Here’s a look at how fans reacted to Pandya’s remark for Dhoni:
