‘Dhoni ka fame alag level’ – Twitter ecstatic after Tamil Nadu CM pleads ‘adopted son’ MS Dhoni to continue playing for CSK
The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M.K. Stalin, expressed his admiration for cricketer MS Dhoni at the Tamil Nadu Champions Foundation Inauguration Ceremony and Chief Minister’s Trophy unveiling ceremony held at the Leela Palace in Chennai. Dhoni, who is known as the darling of Chennai, was also in attendance and launched the Tamil Nadu Champion Foundation website.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin praised Dhoni, saying, “Like everyone in Tamil Nadu, I am a fan of MS Dhoni. Recently I went to Chepauk Stadium twice to watch IPL. The reason for that is to watch Dhoni’s batting. Tamil Nadu’s adopted son Dhoni should continue to play for CSK. Dhoni, the darling of Chennai, is a role model for millions of youngsters.”
Stalin also spoke about the need to produce more sports icons like Dhoni from Tamil Nadu, not just in cricket but in all sports. He said, “Coming from a backward family, Dhoni has become a national icon due to his hard work. We want to produce many Dhonis from Tamilnadu in all sports not just cricket. I am very happy to start the Tamil Nadu Champions Foundation.”
The Chief Minister also acknowledged the growth of the sports industry in Tamil Nadu in the last two years, attributing it to Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin. He praised the minister’s efforts and leadership, saying, “The sports sector has seen a great upsurge under Minister Udhayanidhi. Like you, I also believe that Udhayanidhi will bring about a revival in the sports industry. Every day there is work going on in the sports industry. Udhayanidhi is the captain of this field and is championing all types of sportspersons without thinking that this is a sports field. My compliments to him.”
Stalin’s comments on Dhoni reflect the cricketer’s popularity and influence in Tamil Nadu, where he has played for the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. The Chief Minister’s remarks also highlight the government’s commitment to promoting sports and producing more sports icons from the state.
