‘Dekho wo aa gaya wapis’ – Fans react as interim Indian team skipper Jasprit Bumrah leaves for Ireland

The Indian team left for the tour of Ireland ahead of the three match T20I series starting this Friday

On Tuesday morning, the Jasprit Bumrah-led Indian team departed for Ireland. Three T20Is are set to be played out between India and Ireland. The focus would be squarely on Bumrah, who is making his return to the national team, even though it would be a crucial series for several players.

On Tuesday morning, the Indian board tweeted images of the squad flying out to Ireland on social media. The Indian cricketers’ happy expressions indicated that they are in a positive frame of mind.

Based on the study, the squad for Ireland will come together in two different groupings in Dublin. The West Indies series players will take a direct flight from Miami to Dublin, while the rest departed from Mumbai early on Tuesday.

Players in and out of the Indian T20I squad for the tour of Ireland

In order to prepare for a training camp in India prior to the Asia Cup, the Indian cricket Board has rested a number of seniors for the Ireland tour. India recently competed in a five-match T20I series versus West Indies and lost 2-3 under the leadership of Hardik Pandya.

In addition to being selected for the Ireland series, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, Sanju Samson, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, and Avesh Khan participated in the Windies T20Is.

Bumrah has an opportunity to demonstrate his match preparedness in these games after not playing competitive cricket since September of last year. He had operations earlier this year for a lower back problem.

The T20I debuts of Jaiswal and Tilak against the West Indies were quite promising. The fact that Ruturaj Gaikwad was recently selected as the tour’s vice-captain will reveal a lot about his leadership qualities.

After receiving his first call-up, Rinku Singh, who made a strong impression during IPL 2023, has embarked on his maiden India trip and is hoping to make the team. Jitesh Sharma, the Punjab Kings wicketkeeper, is also making his maiden trip for the Indian team.
