Even though Jasprit Bumrah, India’s pace spearhead, only took a few wickets in Rajkot, he was very much needed. In his opening spell on Day 3 in Rajkot, Bumrah took the vital wicket of Joe Root, which set off the English collapse. Bumrah also consistently asked the batters questions and bowled difficult lines.

Bumrah was not rested during the third Test, despite reports to the contrary, as the series then stood tied at one. It’s quite likely that Bumrah is now rested for the next Test in Ranchi. Although it hasn’t been confirmed yet, it is definitely planned.

Bumrah probably needs some respite to handle his workload. The management is hesitant to overwork him because he continues to be playing cricket nonstop and has a huge season ahead of him. Therefore, Akash Deep might be eligible for the game if Jasprit Bumrah is not in the starting XI.

In the third Test, India defeated England by an overwhelming 434 runs to grab a 2-1 lead during the five-match series on Sunday. In terms of runs scored, this Test victory for India surpassed their 372-run victory against New Zealand in 2021. On the fourth day, England slumped to 122 all out inside 39.4 overs, missing an unlikely win goal of 557.

Ravindra Jadeja outclasses England with bat and ball

Capturing five wickets for 41 runs over 12.4 overs, Ravindra Jadeja was India’s best bowler. With the exception of number 10 Mark Wood, no hitter was able to score more than 20 runs, making it England’s poorest batting performance of the series.

India scored 445 and 430 during their two innings, respectively, on the same surface. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who finished the second innings of India’s innings undefeated at 214, set up the enormous victory. Ravindra Jadeja and Rohit Sharma were the other game centurions for Team India. On his debut, Sarfaraz Khan got two fifties in a row. On February 23, the fourth Test is set to take place in Ranchi.
