Dates for Pro Kabaddi League Player Auction announced, more than 500 players to feature

The player auction for the upcoming Pro Kabaddi League will take place on 5th and 6th August

Having completed eight seasons successfully, the Pro Kabaddi League Season Nine is right on the cards.

Mashal Sports, the organisers of the Pro Kabaddi League, have formally announced the dates for the player auction. The player auction for the upcoming Pro Kabaddi League will take place on the 5th and 6th of August in Mumbai.

All Kabaddi players (Domestic, overseas and New Young Players) taking part in the auction will be divided into four groups namely Group A (30 Lakh), Group B (20 Lakh), Group C (10 Lakh) and Group D (6 Lakhs).

The total Salary Purse available to each Kabaddi franchise has been capped at Rs 4.4 Crore for Season nine. The player pool has now increased to more than 500 players. 24 players from the top two teams of Khelo India University Games 2021, Bangalore have also been added to the pool.

“As we get ready for the Season nine player auction, very exciting times lie ahead for Kabaddi as a sport and our players. Every season has witnessed the emergence of new talented players and I am certain that there are a lot of surprises in store for us this year as well. I look forward to welcoming the young talents from the Khelo India University Games into the Player Auction. PKL Season nine will be organised in liaison with our stakeholders and associates in the national kabaddi ecosystem under AKFL” said the CEO of Sports League, Disney Star India and League commissioner, Mr Anupam Goswami.

Speaking about the upcoming Pro Kabaddi Auction, Supratik Sen, the CEO of U Mumba team said, “The Pro Kabaddi Players Auction is a celebration of kabaddi players across the world. Some of our kabaddi players have caught the attention of fans throughout eight seasons and they are ready to up the ante in season nine. Numerous talented players have emerged over the years and I look forward to seeing some new talents being given opportunities in this Player Auction.”

Patna Pirates have won the tournament thrice with U Mumba, Jaipur Pink Panthers, Bengaluru Bulls, Bengal Warriors and Debang Delhi winning the Pro Kabaddi League on one occasion.
