Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Kane, Jules Kounde and more- All Football Transfer news at one place

Published on

Football is heading towards the start of the next season and every club is scrambling to sign their targets before the transfer market closes. Barcelona, having already signed Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich, Andres Christensen from Chelsea, Raphinha from Leeds United and Frank Kassie from AC Milan, are looking to complete the signing of Jules Kounde from Sevilla.

Chelsea and Barcelona have been fighting for Jules Kounde’s signature for months now and it looks like the Spanish Club has finally won the tussle. In a deal, as reported by Fabrizio Romano, to be in the ballpark of £51.9m, Barcelona have hijacked Chelsea’s move. Chelsea in retort have blocked Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta’s move to Barcelona in what is turning out to be a war of the transfer market.

On the German front, it has been reported that Bayern Munich are chasing England’s Harry Kane as a Robert Lewandowski replacement. Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn had earlier praised Kane, saying, “I can just say that Harry Kane is an outstanding striker who is now under contract at Tottenham.”

Manchester United have been chasing Ajax’s Antony. Ajax however do not want to sell the winger and have increased the asking price from €80m to €100m. Ajax manager when asked about Antony’s transfer said, “He is working well. I don’t have the feeling that he’s busy with a transfer.” United have already signed Lisandro Martinez from Ajax for a reported fee of £48.3m.

Atletico supporters reject Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo who has been in the news for his desire to play in the Champions League attracted a hoard of clubs. Soon however all the rumours dried up with Manchester United doubling down on their earlier statement that “the Portuguese is not for sale.” The 33-year-old was linked to Atletico Madrid as the last resort but has been rejected, by not the club management, but by their supporters.

In a pre-season friendly match, Atletico supporters unfurled a strongly worded message that read, “CR7 NOT WELCOME”. The club supporters said that “Ronaldo represents the antithesis of our values.”

With all options fading away it looks like the most popular athlete would have to play at Manchester United for one more season.
