Conor McGregor and Hollywood star Jake Gyllenhaal crashes UFC 285 weigh-in, shots movie scene with fans
Conor McGregor will face Michael Chandler this year.
UFC star Conor McGregor made a surprise appearance at UFC 285 weigh-in event to promote his upcoming film ‘Road House’ at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. However, this will be McGregor’s debut in the acting field and the movie will be released on Amazon Prime but it is not revealed what kind of role McGregor will play.
Hollywood star Jake Gyllenhaal is also part of the movie, he even took part in the weigh-ins and faced off against UFC veteran fighter Jay Hieron. It is reported that the team shot one of the parts of the film during the UFC 285 weigh-in event. McGregor didn’t take part in the weigh-in but told the crowd to cheer louder as they are also part of this movie.
“Las Vegas! Who’s ready for tomorrow night? We’ve got the biggest fight in Road House history, Harris versus Dalton UFC 222,” McGregor said. “Everyone in this arena, you’re about to be part of my movie that’s coming out with myself and Jake Gyllenhaal. A Joe Silver production, make sure to cheer for the weigh-ins and let’s go Las Vegas.”
Conor’s way too fast, way too quick: Eddie Alvarez
Talking about McGregor’s last appearance, he was last in action at UFC 264 in July 2021 in a trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier. The fight was stopped in the first round after McGregor broke his ankle, an injury he has been recovering from since.
Meanwhile, former UFC champion Eddie Alvarez recently shared his opinions on the much-awaited clash between McGregor and Michael Chandler. Interestingly, Alvarez lost to McGregor at UFC 205 after going 1-1 with Chandler in Bellator. Alvarez said that Chandler doesn’t wrestle and if he just stands with Conor, he will get knocked out.
“If I had to guess, Mike Chandler doesn’t wrestle. If he stands with Conor, Conor’s going to knock him out. It’s a mismatch… He throws bombs, but Conor’s way too fast, way too quick to get hit with anything Mike Chandler is throwing.”
