After a three-day break, the action between India and West Indies resumed in the T20I series as the two teams went head-to-head on Saturday night. The series moved to the United States of America for the last two matches.  The West Indies captain won the toss and invited India to bat first. The Indian opening pair of captain Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav walked out to the middle confidently and made their intentions clear as Rohit started the Indian innings with a four in the first over.

Rohit and SKY once again looked in fine touch batting together. They took the attack on the West Indian bowlers early on. It was raining boundaries all over the ground. As a result, both the batters put on majestic strokeplay on display. The partnership was broken after Rohit was sent back to the pavilion after getting bowled by Akeal Hosein. India lost Sky as well shortly after that which brought Deepak Hooda and Rishabh Pant to the crease. The duo added solid 47 runs for the third wicket. They also prepared for a big flourish in the death overs.

India managed a total of 191 for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 20 overs

The West Indies chase had a fiery start as the opener Brandon King smashed three fours in the very first over of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. King’s innings didn’t last long as he was dismissed in the second over by Avesh Khan who also dismissed Devon Thomas in his next over. Thomas’ dismissal brought captain Nicholas Pooran to the crease who was in no mood to settle down as he decided to take on Axar Patel.

Pooran took the left-arm spinner to the cleaners. He clobbered him for one four and three sixes in the first five balls of the over. But Pooran’s destructive knock was ended on the last ball of the over. He was left stranded in the middle of the pitch looking for a quick single with Rishabh Pant running him out. After losing their captain, the West Indies batters kept looking for boundaries to keep up with the required run rate but also kept losing wickets. The Indian bowlers didn’t let loose as everyone was amongst the wickets. The West Indies batters once again faltered while chasing a big target as India clinched the series 3-1 with one game to play.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to India’s dominant performance:
