The Commonwealth Games 2022 has been edging quickly towards its completion with just three days left. India has so far won 18 medals so far and are in the final stages of many events.
With hopes of matching last year’s medal tally, the Indian contingent will be working harder in the upcoming events. The eighth of the mega event will also be a stark reminder of Neeraj Chopra’s absence from the Commonwealth Games. The Javelin star had to pull out of the event due to a thing injury sustained at the World Athletics Championship in Oregon, USA. The Men’s javelin team featuring DP Manu and Rohit Yadav would be heading into the qualification round.
The eighth day of the Commonwealth Games would also be important for Wrestling as Divya Kakran, Sakshi Malik, Deepak Punia, Anshu Malik, Mohit Dahiya and Bajrang Punia will challenge in their respective categories.
Badminton will also see the Men’s doubles team featuring Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty play in the Round of 16 matches. The Women’s doubles team will put forth their challenge in the Round of 16 as well.
