Veteran wrestler Jim Cornette recently discussed how, even with an injury, CM Punk would most likely still be profitable for WWE. Punk said last week on RAW that he will not be competing in this year’s WrestleMania due to a torn tricep sustained at the Royal Rumble. He talked about being resilient and stated unequivocally that he will have surgery and recover more fully in a couple of months.

Jim Cornette, the veteran, stated in a recent Drive Thru segment that WWE will likely profit from CM Punk’s product sales whilst he is away. Cornette said that The Greatest in the World might visit NXT as well and mentor a few of the newcomers, which would be extremely beneficial to the business. He thought Punk would even take up announcing while he healed from his injured tricep.

He said, “We don’t know the bookkeeping. Are they gonna just break even on Punk with merchandise sales and his intellectual property and likeness or whatever?” He continued, “If he goes back to train some at NXT, then how valuable would that be just to have him in the training class? They have to pay him normally while they’re already paying him. No it’s not gonna be a blow to them. And then the inevitable probably, when he does come back and do some commentary. Do not cry for them Argentina, as far as their bottom line on Punk.”

CM Punk’s heart-warming gesture towards the American dream!

CM Punk encountered Cody Rhodes behind the scenes during RAW last week. WWE posted the footage to its social media accounts. Punk and Cody were filled with emotion as they gave each other a hug. Punk sent The American Nightmare with an affectionate smile and best wishes. Then he instructed Rhodes to go finish this year’s narrative.

Cody Rhodes made history in the Royal Rumble, which took place this year by winning the match back-to-back, making him the first person to do so in more than 20 years. The Rock was presented by Rhodes on SmackDown this week, and at Wrestlemania, the former is probably going to face Roman Reigns.
