CM Punk set to challenge WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in Survivor Series
Reports suggest that CM Punk is set to face Seth Rollins at the WWE Survivor Series.
Amid the ongoing rumors about his differences with World Wrestling Entertainment, reports suggest that CM Punk is set to face Seth Rollins at the WWE Survivor Series. Bully Ray and Mark Henry speculated in the latest episode of Busted Open Radio that Punk might feature against Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship.
It is worth noting that in the recently concluded WWE Fastlane, Rollins retained his WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Minding this fact, Henry said that it might be a plot to launch CM Punk against the Beast. He said, “I don’t want to see anything more than [CM Punk challenging Rollins]. That would be a monumental deal for both parties involved. It would be monumental to hear CM Punk’s music play and to come out against Seth Rollins.”
However, his co-host Ray believes that Punk will focus more on impact wrestling than other WWE superstars. He said, “I think CM Punk would mean more for the professional wrestling business overall in a different company other than AEW or the WWE. I think that him in Impact could help raise Impact’s stock, but I totally understand why he would want to go back to the WWE.”
Speculations are high for CM Punk’s homecoming
It is worth noting that in 2014, WWE fired CM Punk from the brand. However, since his exit from AWE, the biggest wrestling brand is looking to hire talent. The representatives from both sides are in talks, and the deal is almost finalized. Both parties are just waiting for the best possible time to launch Punk.
If things are to be believed, Punk will play an important role in the upcoming storyline. This might challenge big fish like Seth Rollins or Roman Reigns. According to various speculations, Punk will fight for the Universal Championship or World Championship. He might be up against these superstars and make a new storyline for the brand.
