Despite major rumours that he is joining the Mumbai Indians (MI), Hardik Pandya continues to stay with the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The all-around player can still be moved to the five-time winners, though, since the trading window shuts one week before the December 19 auction.

The deal may take place even when the auction concludes and before the next T20 competition begins. It was previously discovered that MI had to pay INR 15 crore to hire Pandya. However, the most recent information indicates that Hardik is still part of the Gujarat Titans.

After losing to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in an exciting final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Hardik’s Titans concluded as the runners-up in 2023.

Hardik spent six seasons as a member of the MI team after beginning his IPL career there in 2015. In 2015, 2017, 2019, 2020, and 2021, he also won the IPL. But, MI was unable to keep him prior to the 2022 mega-auction.

Hardik has amassed 2309 runs with an average of 30.38. He had a strike rate of 145.86 in 123 IPL games, with ten half-centuries to his credit. In addition, he has taken 53 wickets which has demonstrated his ability with the ball.

Gujarat played a very consistent IPL 2022 and were on course to lift yet another title. They finished as the league’s best team, having won 10 of their 14 games. The Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) five-wicket victory (DLS method) in the IPL finals put an abrupt stop to their rampage.

Can Hardik join Mumbai Indians now?

Notably, with the trading window open till December 12, Hardik Pandya may still move from Gujarat to Mumbai. If there are any more surprises in place for the fans, that is a question on everyone’s mind

Eight players have been removed from the 6T squad in an effort to bolster their bankroll before the IPL 2024 mini-auction.  Odeon Smith, Urvil Patel, Pradeep Sangwan, Yash Dayal, K.S. Bharat, Shivam Mavi, Alzarri Joseph, as well as Dasun Shanaka were let go by the team.
