‘Chand toh bohot paas tha India ke liye’ – Fans react to a successful landing of Chandrayaan 3 on Moon
Chandrayan 3 successfully landed on the south pole of the moon today evening
Following the ground-breaking Chandrayaan-2 project, which attracted worldwide notice for its extraordinary contributions to space research, Chandrayaan-3 is ISRO’s widely anticipated third lunar exploration mission. This mission’s safe launch was aimed at advancing our understanding of the lunar surface and its nuanced features.
According to ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation), the mission’s three main objectives were to demonstrate a safe and smooth lunar surface landing, illustrate how a rover can move across the lunar surface, and conduct in-situ scientific investigations.
ISRO tweeted this earlier today to reveal to everyone about the potential time of the landing of Chandrayaan 3. The tweet read, “All set to initiate the Automatic Landing Sequence (ALS). Awaiting the arrival of Lander Module (LM) at the designated point, around 17:44 Hrs. IST. Upon receiving the ALS command, the LM activates the throttleable engines for powered descent. The mission operations team will keep confirming the sequential execution of commands. The live telecast of operations at MOX begins at 17:20 Hrs. IST”
India’s historic achievement
India has become just the fourth nation in history to successfully land a spacecraft on the South Pole of the moon with its Chandrayaan 3 mission. With this development, India became the first nation to set foot on the moon’s South Pole and the fourth nation overall to do so after the United States, China, and Russia.
The Vikram lander, which is featured prominently on the Chandrayaan-3 project and is slated to make a lunar surface landing on Wednesday night, is expected to be crucial to India’s efforts to explore the moon.
According to a Reuters story from the day of the launch, Chandrayaan-3’s budget was $75 million, or around Rs 615 crore in Indian rupees. An ANI article offered more context when it stated that the authorised cost of Chandrayaan-3 was Rs 250 crore, independent of launch vehicle expenses. The Interstellar production included costs that, when converted from dollars to rupees, came to almost Rs 1,200 crore.
