Chennai is taking on Mumbai in the 59th match of the Indian T20 League 2022. Mumbai asked Chennai to bat first after winning the toss at the Wankhede Stadium. The men in yellow had a disappointing start in an important match. They lost early wickets, which put them under pressure.

The first wicket of Devon Conway, however, was the one that caught everyone’s attention. A length ball by Daniel Sams on the second ball of the innings was given out, LBW. The ball, however, was missing the leg stumps. Devon Conway wished to take the DRS, but it wasn’t available due to a power cut at the Wankhede Stadium.

This accounted for fans to lash out on Twitter. Many believed that the match should not have started with a proper system in place. “TheThe biggest league in the world @IPL, no #DRS just because of power?? Is this a kind of joke ?? It’s not out #umpire calls just senseless,” wrote a fan.

“Whatever may be… Today is already fixed .. this is called original match-fixing… No DRS in world class T20 league… Can you believe this?” wrote another angry fan.

Meanwhile, Chennai did not have anything going for them in the innings. They kept losing wickets regularly and struggled to get the runs on the board. MS Dhoni stuck around in the game scoring important runs. The team only managed 87 runs in the first 15 overs, losing 9 wickets along the way. This innings put the chances of Chennai qualifying for the playoffs in problem.
