India Cricket Team reportedly will get a new sponsor from their series against the West Indies next month. From COVID-19 up until now, Byju’s, an educational app, sponsored the team. However, the company has been facing losses after the students returned to offline mode. They haven’t resorted much to online education. Meanwhile, it was rumored that the deal with Dream 11 might not take place before the West Indies series.

However, as reported by News18, the deal has been done. With this, the Men In Blue will don the jersey with the fantasy platform’s name engraved on it. The team will play the ODI and T20I series after the two-match Test series. The Test series will be part of the World Test Championship cycle 2023-25. Coming back to the deal, Byju paid around Rs 287 Cr for the last tenure in 2018. The ed-tech company later extended the deal to 2023, paying around $55 million or Rs 450 Cr. Under the deal, Byju’s was paying Rs 5.5 crore for bilateral matches and Rs 1.7 Cr for an ICC game. The for the drop in price is that in ICC tournaments, teams are not allowed to sport the sponsor’s logo on the front of the jersey.
