On 1 December 2022, three-match Test series are going to begin between Pakistan and England in Pakistan. After a gap of 17 years, England will play a Test series in Pakistan. However, recently they played each other in the final of the 20-20 World Cup 2022. Meanwhile, England defeated the Men in Green by five wickets.

Before that tournament, England also played a seven-match T20I series in Pakistan. England won that series also by a margin of 4-3. In the World Cup final, Ben Stokes scored 52* runs off 49 balls, including five fours and one six while chasing the target. He ensured that his team chased down the 138-run target in 19 overs with five wickets to spare. Now, he will be in action again in this upcoming Test series.

Fans have slammed Pakistan after such a decision from Ben Stokes

On 28 November 2022, Ben Stokes shared a message on his official Twitter account. There, he said that all the match fees from the upcoming Test series will be donated to the flood victims in Pakistan. He wrote: “It is great to be in Pakistan for the first time for this historic series. To be back here after 17 years as a Test side is very exciting. There is a sense of responsibility amongst the playing and support group and to be there is special.”

“The floods that devastated Pakistan earlier this year were very sad to see and have had a significant impact on the country and the people. The game has given me a lot in my life and I feel it’s only right to give something back that goes far beyond cricket. I will be donating my match fees from this Test series to the Pakistan flood appeal.” Stokes added.

“Hopefully this donation can go towards the rebuilding of areas of Pakistan most affected by the flooding,” Ben Stokes concluded. After watching that post, some fans started to troll the English all-rounder on social media platforms.
